About this Event
Brown Liquor & Chicken: The Official Cousin Reunion
It all started in the summer of 2017 on a $100 grill in the front yard of the homie's crib in Southeast DC. What began as a simple cookout became a tradition — good people, brown liquor, and chicken. No frills, no pretension, just family.
After a 4-year hiatus, Brown Liquor & Chicken is BACK for a Cousin Reunion at Anacostia Park on Juneteenth.
This year we're celebrating Rilo's 40th and over a decade of community organizing and bringing vibes to the District. Like most years, BL&C has always found a way to give back to the community. This year is no different. For the big 4-0, Rilo has set a $10,000 fundraising goal for SGA's Fairway Fund — a 501(c)(3) on a mission to open the game of golf to Black and Brown communities and give back to HBCUs. Your donation is tax-deductible. Come eat, come celebrate, come give back.
What to expect: Rilo and Cousin Los on the grill. 400 lbs of chicken. DJ Dre on the 1s and 2s. All vibes.
The house rules:
- Your ticket + a bottle to donate to the bar = your entry into the cookout.
- You can bring a cooler of your own.
- As usual, there will be no sides. If you want sides with your chicken, bring that in your cooler along with your extra bottles.
- Tents are recommended. For those who need one, we have tents available to rent — deadline to grab that ticket is May 22nd.
Which Cousin are you? 🕐 Early. 🕐 On time. 🕐 Late. 🕐 Late Late.
To the Cousins who been here before — welcome back. To the first-time Cousins — welcome to Brown Liquor & Chicken.
Pull up. Bring a bottle. Grab a plate. Give back.
About The Fairway Fund
Social Golf Association is a 501(c)(3) and its Fairway Fund is on a mission to open the game of golf to Black and Brown communities — and give back to HBCUs along the way. From youth programming and scholarships to supporting HBCU golf programs, your donation helps remove the barriers that have kept too many off the course. Our immediate goal is to raise $10,000+, but we're thinking bigger. Our audacious goal is to raise $1 million by the end of 2027. It starts right here, right now, with you. Give back and help us change the game.
