About this Event
Farming is hard work. In this class, led by Cynthia Flores of Labor-Movement, participants will gain a better understanding of self-care in this physically-demanding profession. Through hands-on movement practice, Cynthia will guide participants through four foundational movement patterns — hinge, squat, push, and pull — and explain the critical role of core stability in protecting your body on the job. You'll leave with:
- A stronger understanding of body mechanics as they relate to farm work
- Tips and techniques to reduce strain and prevent workplace injuries
- Tools to improve productivity and long-term physical well-being
- Time for Q&A with Cynthia
This workshop is for anyone who works with their body and wants to keep it healthy. Come ready to move!
This workshop is donation-based with a suggested donation of $25. Our hope is to make this class accessible to everyone in our farming community, but contributions to support this programming and our nonprofit are greatly appreciated.
About : Founded in 2020, Labor-Movement's endeavor is to be a resource, educator, and resource to farmers, farmworkers, and industrial athletes in body mechanics and movement pattern training. The goal is preventing injuries, extending career longevity and living happier lives. In 2024, we worked with over 900 farmers in 18 states and British Columbia.
