Have you ever felt stuck, overwhelmed, or simply curious about a new way to explore your inner world? Art therapy might be exactly what you're looking for. This 3-month class offers a welcoming, open-expression experience where you are the artist, and only you decide what to create and how to express yourself. Through hands-on exploration of new materials (including oil pastels provided for you), you'll have the space to investigate your own thoughts, navigate life's challenges, and tap into a creative process that is both freeing and deeply personal. No artistic skill or experience is required — just a willingness to show up and explore. "Art therapy provides significant mental, emotional, and physical health benefits by using creative processes. When we are in the process, it can be freeing and healing for many people. It offers a non-verbal outlet to process issues that we deal with in life such as large issues such as trauma and self-esteem or even everyday issues like self-awareness, and research has shown benefits toward cognitive abilities like memory and focus. No artistic skill is required for use in art therapy or to receive the benefits that the process can give." - Dr. Millie Dawson-Hardy Age Range: 18+ Dates: July 25, 2026 August 22, 2026 September 26, 2026 Times: 9 AM-11 AM Location: Kentuck's Georgine Clarke Building Tuition: $90; all supplies included; one registration includes all three dates
