About this Event

What makes a place feel like home?

Join us at De Montfort University for a panel discussion exploring how journeys, stories, culture and lived experiences shape our sense of place and belonging.

Bringing together perspectives from DMU, the arts and Leicester’s student community, the discussion will explore what it means to feel connected to a city, whose stories are represented in our communities, and how we can create places where everyone has the opportunity to belong.

We’ll consider Leicester’s unique identity as a city shaped by generations of movement and migration, the role of arts and culture in bringing people together, and the ways universities and communities can work together to build stronger connections.

The panel will feature:

  • Professor Mark Charlton, De Montfort University
  • Trina Haldar, Director, Spark Arts for Children
  • Anna-Sophia Oliveira Machado De Montfort University student and SDG Student Fello

Light refreshments provided.
