Creative Industries and Culture Bridge Launch
About this Event
Join us for the launch of CIC Bridge, the School of Creative Industries and Culture’s new employability, industry partnerships and placements hub.
CIC Bridge is a first-of-its-kind subject-led model within DMU, designed to complement existing institution-wide employability provision by focusing on the specific needs, strengths and industry contexts of the School of Creative Industries and Culture. The hub will connect students, staff, alumni, employers and cultural partners through live briefs; placements, internships, portfolio-building opportunities, industry projects and creative collaborations.
The launch will bring together colleagues, students and external partners to celebrate the start of CIC Bridge and explore how we can build stronger pathways between creative education and the world of work. It will also offer an opportunity to hear more about the vision for the hub, meet those involved in shaping it, and find out how staff, students and partners can engage with projects across the next academic year.
Businesses and external partners can benefit from CIC Bridge by working with emerging creative talent on clearly scoped projects, including live briefs, campaigns, digital content, video production, music, visual identity, events, public relations, advertising, research, storytelling and other creative outputs. Each project will also be supported by academic or professional supervisors, helping students work professionally from brief to completion while ensuring partners receive structured communication, agreed deliverables and a clear project process. All of this comes at no cost to the businesses.
CIC Bridge will work closely with the School of Creative Industries and Culture that consists of three subject groups : Humanities and Cultural Management; Creative Industries and Digital Arts; and Creative and Visual Arts. Through this work, we aim to strengthen graduate outcomes, enhance student confidence and professional identity, and create a more visible and coordinated route into industry-facing opportunities.
We warmly invite students, staff, alumni, employers, cultural organisations, civic partners and creative industry professionals to join us as we mark the beginning of this exciting initiative.
We will also be providing a light dinner during the event, so please register in advance to help us confirm attendance and catering numbers.
