Maara Time: Volunteer with us
KaiWaka (food canoe) refers to the journey of kai from seed right through to seed, and pays homage to the foods that sailed with our ancestors to Aotearoa thousands of years ago.
Food is a sacred, natural part of life. When treated with care, kai can look after us and deeply connect us back to our environment.
Each week Maara Time will have something different~
- Food forest maintenance involving weeding & mulching
- Sowing seasonal seeds for local community groups, churches & people
- Painting signs
- Creating soil through composting
