Friends of Wainoni Park Volunteer Morning
Friends of Wainoni Park meet most Thursday mornings until mid-December (we can start earlier in the hotter months, so please email us to confirm date & time if you are interested in joining the group).
There are a range of tasks to suit a variety of fitness levels. This is a great opportunity to meet others while caring for Greenhithe's environment.
🧤 Activities include:
Releasing recently planted and established native trees from pest plants (weeds);
Preparing areas for native plants;
Planting native plants;
Spreading mulch around native plantings;
Pest control;
Looking after the community edible garden;
Removing rubbish from the park;
Carrying out wildlife surveys; and
Getting fit whilst forming new friendships.
Please bring a cold drink, a sunhat, and wear shoes with a good grip.
Long sleeves and trousers are recommended for some areas. Morning tea is supplied.
