The Postgraduate Research Symposium 2026, hosted by the Energy Research Consortium at Waipapa Taumata Rau | The University of Auckland, will showcase the latest research, ideas, and creative practices focused on energy futures, including its intersections with sustainability, technology, policy, economics, and society.

This symposium will bring together students and researchers from diverse disciplines to foster dialogue, collaboration, and new perspectives on contemporary energy challenges and transitions. We welcome contributions from across engineering, architecture and planning, science, data science, policy, design, business, economics, and the social sciences that critically engage with energy systems, technologies, markets, and communities.

We encourage open discussion and interdisciplinary exchange. In addition to the freshest ideas and research breakthroughs, the symposium will feature special industry guests.

Call for Abstracts

We are currently still accepting abstracts for consideration and encourage you to submit. We warmly welcome not only completed research projects, but also early-stage ideas, exploratory work, and work in progress.
