Alfred Mitchell is a British Tenor renowned for his ‘commanding’ voice and dramatically rich characterisations. From Autumn 2026 he is thrilled to be joining the Opera Studio at the Volskoper Wien. Other season highlights include returns to Opera North for their award-winning production of Peter Grimes and to Garsington Opera featuring in Der Rosenkavalier, La Traviata and Il Ritorno D’Ulisse. Recent operatic highlights include Cyril Princess Ida (National Gilbert and Sullivan Opera Company) First Prisoner Fidelio, Tchekalinsky (cover) Queen of Spades (Garsington), Male Chorus The Rape of Lucretia (British Youth Opera), Triquet Eugene Onegin (Hampstead Garden Opera).
He is also making a reputation as a leading tenor in contemporary operatic repertoire, creating roles in projects supported by the Royal Ballet and Opera, Scottish Opera and English National Opera and at the Tête à Tête festival. In 2025 he created the role of Tamino in Damon Albarn’s Magic Flute II: The Curse at the Téâtre du Lido, Paris
Ben Cook is a London-based accompanist, recently graduated from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama with a Masters degree and Concert Recital Diploma in Piano Accompaniment. He studied with Pamela Lidiard and Caroline Palmer. He has a particular passion for working with singers, especially within the highly varied repertoire of English art song.
Ben hugely enjoys giving lunchtime recitals, with recent venues including St. James’s Piccadilly, St Stephen's Walbrook and St. Mary le Strand. He is looking forward to his second recital at the Westminster Music Library. When not at the piano, Ben is a full time stage manager for several of the UK’s major opera companies.
