Canal & River Trust Volunteer Taster Session
About this Event
Join Our Canal & River Trust Volunteer Taster Session!
Are you 18-30 years old and a Hackney or City resident? Do you have a mental health condition and want to try out volunteering to improve your wellbeing and build skills and confidence for paid work?
Come along to our in-person volunteer taster session and see what it's all about! Meet like-minded folks, learn about the amazing work of the Canal & River Trust, and find out how you can help keep our waterways wonderful.
No pressure, just a fun chance to explore volunteering and ask questions. We’d love to see you there! If you enjoy it and are interested in more, you can also explore other volunteering opportunities through Step Up.
These sessions are part of a joint project from Hackney Quest, IRIE Mind & Volunteer Centre Hackney funded by the NHS. Our programme aims to address health inequalities for Black and Mixed heritage residents. We will therefore prioritise registrations from residents in this group.
On the day you can expect: Cutting back vegetation from a boat moored at the lock and doing some general tidying of the area.
If you have any questions feel free to get in touch with the Step Up team on 020 7241 4443 or [email protected].
