About this Event
Literature searching and EndNote basics
Literature searching is an essential undertaking in the initial phase of any research project. It can also be confounding, and frustrating. This training session will help participants translate their research question into a format suitable for searching across multiple databases of clinical literature. Participants will learn underlying principles and technical elements of identifying scholarly articles of relevance to their own research activity.
The session will also include the basics of EndNote: creating a library for the items located in your literature search, creating references, downloading documents and basic formatting.
You are required to bring your own charged laptop to participate in the workshop activities. CKN access will be provided on the day. EndNote software will be required to particpate in this workshop. Please contact the workshop organiser ([email protected]) if you do not have a license for EndNote on the device you will be bringing.
Workshop facilitator; Daniel McDonald, Darling Downs Health, Senior Librarian
Please arrive on time for this workshop, as it will commence at the advertised time.
A detailed map of the Baillie Henderson Hospital campus, showing direction of traffic, buildings and parking locations, is available here. Allow adequate time to find a car park, do not assume that a spot will be available in the closest car park. This workshop will be held in the downstairs training room in rush building (Building 5 on the map), which can be accessed on the southern side of the building at ground level.
