What to Expect
The CPR Workshop, organized by Bangladesh Medical Students’ Society (BMSS), is designed to enhance medical students’ knowledge and practical skills in Basic Life Support (BLS) and emergency response, preparing them to respond effectively in life-threatening situations.
This workshop will offer a dynamic blend of interactive learning and hands-on training.
In the first phase, participants will take part in an interactive session led by experienced ICU consultants, covering the fundamentals of BLS, the principles and importance of CPR, recognition of cardiac arrest, and activation of emergency response systems. The session will also provide an overview of advanced life support and patient transfer to the ICU, along with an engaging Q&A session.
In the second phase, participants will be divided into four groups and rotate through four skill stations, spending 20 minutes at each station under the supervision of experienced ICU consultants and trained facilitators.The stations will include:
Hands-on CPR Techniques: High-quality chest compressions, rescue breathing, and team-based CPR.
Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Use: Recognition of shockable rhythms and safe AED operation.
Adult and Pediatric Choking Management: Identification and management of airway obstruction in adults and children.
Airway and Breathing Management: Basic airway opening maneuvers and ventilation techniques.
Using simulation manikins and training equipment, participants will gain valuable practical experience and build confidence in managing emergencies, enabling them to develop the essential knowledge and hands-on training needed to take action when every second matters.
