AI Tinkerers Dhaka 3rd Meetup — AI, Localised: Academia × Industry
This time, the meetup is being brought to campus. The theme “𝐀𝐈, 𝐋𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐝,” focuses on bridging the gap between academia and industry. The lab and the production server are solving many of the same problems in isolation: low-resource language modelling, evaluation without benchmarks, inference on a budget, and data that does not exist yet. This gathering puts the researchers and the founders in the same room at North South University and asks both to show their work.

Builders who can pop the hood on their AI projects are invited to submit a demo. Your demo should be a technical show-and-tell that answers the question: "How did you build this interesting thing?"—not "Why should someone use this product?" Messy experiments, creative hacks, and hard-won technical discoveries are encouraged.
This edition especially welcomes two kinds of demos, side by side:
● From the Lab: Research in progress—Bangla NLP, speech, evaluation, model efficiency, and novel architectures. Bring the paper, but show the code and the failure modes.
● From the Field: Systems running in production against real Bangladeshi users, data, and constraints. Show what the paper did not prepare you for.
If you are actively building with LLMs, generative AI, or advanced ML techniques—whether in a research group or a company—you are encouraged to submit your work.

What Makes a Great Demo?
Focus on Internals: Show architecture, trade-offs, and what broke.
Live Code: No pre-recorded videos. Run it live.
Technical Depth: Explain your context engineering, agentic workflow, or infrastructure choices.
Theme Alignment: Show what localising AI actually takes—the Bangla data problem, the compute constraint, the evaluation gap, and the last mile to real users.
