In the Christian tradition, there is a section of the book of the Prophet Isaiah that has been used to describe Jesus’ mission, death and resurrection. Known as the “Suffering Servant Songs,” these passages are key readings in Lent, most specifically on Palm Sunday and Good Friday. These verses in the Book of Isaiah were so well known that they became part of Handel’s famous “Messiah.” Join biblical scholar John McHugh as he explores each one of the four servant songs and what they mean for our Lenten journey today.
Note: This series is best understood when all four sessions are attended. Sessions will be recorded for participants to listen to for one week after each session.
