Leaves, Lines & Little Discoveries
About this Event
Join us for Leaves, Lines & Little Discoveries at Little Nestlings Early Learning Center.
This free Community Saturday invites young children to slow down, look closely, and explore the shapes, lines, and textures of autumn leaves and natural materials. Children will use magnifiers, crayons, paper, and simple drawing tools to trace, rub, draw, and notice what they see.
This is not a project with one expected outcome. It is an invitation to observe, ask questions, make marks, compare details, and express ideas through materials. Families will get a glimpse into how Little Nestlings supports curiosity, outdoor learning, language development, and creative thinking.
The morning is gentle, hands-on, and ideal for children who love nature, art materials, collecting, sorting, and noticing tiny details.
Featured child activity:
Create leaf line art and observation drawings.
Children will choose leaves or natural materials, look closely at lines and textures, then make rubbings, tracings, or drawings inspired by what they notice.
Children may practice:
Observation; nature connection; fine motor control; pattern recognition; language development; curiosity; patience; creative confidence
