Join us for the launch of our Photo Census exhibition across the shop windows of Stoke Village high street (aka Devonport Road). We'll be celebrating with some drinks & snacks throughout the event at Stoke Youth & Community Centre (where you can come & go as you please), showing you the full online archive, and distributing an extra special newspaper documenting the portraits from the project!
We're celebrating the 140+ local people who have taken part in the Photo Census project, led by Josh Greet & Haidee Dampney. If you can't make it to the launch or exhibition, please check out the full archive of photos online at https://blockhousefolk.thevillagehub.org.uk/photographic-census
Here's how the launch event will work:
5:30pm - Take a look at some of the photos on Devonport Road (before it gets too dark), have some drinks & snacks at the SYCC, pick up your newspaper (if you took part in the project)
6:00 - 6:15pm - Opening "thank you" speech at the SYCC
6:15 - 7:30pm - More time to look at the photos (as the sun goes down), chat, hang out and have refreshments at the SYCC
If you can't make it on the night, selected photos from the project will be on display from Fri 4th October - Sun 20th October (all available to view from the street in shop windows along Devonport Road, 24hrs a day), and the exhibition will also be featured as part of Plymouth Art Weekender (Fri18th Oct - Sun 20th Oct).
