Join us for a King Tide Excursion to Shore Acres State Park with our knowledgeable guide! We'll meet at the Recreation Center at 7:15 am and head south in the Adventure Van to the Oregon Dunes rest area for a quick pit stop. After stretching our legs, we will continue the journey to Shore Acres where we will arrive near high tide. We will have 2 hours to view waves and explore the gardens. Please note that even though it is King Tides, we may not see the impressive waves of Instagram Lore. Wave height is also a factor in getting large sprays. If it is an exceptionally calm day, we may not see big wave action, however, there are still plenty of beautiful views to photograph, and the gardens to explore. After our time at Shore Acres, we will head to the Food Truck Pod in Coos Bay for a late lunch, making a quick stop along the way at Chuck's Seafood in Charleston, if time allows. (Price of lunch not included in trip fee.) After lunch, we will return to Newport. We should arrive at the Recreation Center by 4:30 pm. Due to van space, only 8 tickets are available.
We recommend bringing snacks along as lunch will not be until close to 1:00 pm. Picnic tables are available at Shore Acres.
Dress for the weather. Unless conditions are dangerous, this trip will go rain or shine.
