Ireland, Britain, and Palestine
About this Event
SMU Irish Studies and the Department for the Study of Religion are pleased to host Professor Rashid Khalidi for a timely and thought-provoking lecture examining the historical links between British counter-insurgency practices and their longer-term global impact. The talk offers a critical historical perspective on the circulation of military knowledge across imperial and postcolonial contexts, and its enduring implications.
This event will be of interest to researchers and students in history, political science, international relations, and those engaged in the study of conflict, colonialism, and policy.
The lecture will be held online but those in Halifax are invited for refreshments and sandwiches at Saint Mary's University for informal post-lecture discussions.
Event details, including the Zoom link and room number, will be emailed to registered attendees before the event.
