The rum ran steady, and the nights ran darker. When the Nellie J. Banks was stopped offshore with three thousand gallons of illegal rum, the cargo disappeared into a bonded warehouse — and so did a lot of people’s sense of security.
One of them was Freddie “Baby Face” Wicks, the man behind Halifax's worst-kept secret, The Secret Sip. When he took the fall his wife Rosie kept the bar alive. and the city kept drinking .
Tonight Baby Face is back...his sentence behind him.
