Yin is the perfect style of yoga to accompany a sound bath. The deeply calming effects of a yin practice serve to balance out the busy, constantly on-the-go ‘yang’ energy that is so prevalent in our daily lives. Please join us for a delicious session of Yin Yoga - which focuses on releasing tension in the connective tissue and fascia in the body - set to a landscape of healing and energizing therapeutic sound.
As Sue gently guides you in and out of a series of restorative Yin postures, using the breath and various props to assist, Anne and Rick will create a soothing, all-enveloping, and deeply stirring musical backdrop, utilizing a blend of crystal singing bowls, gongs, shaman drum and hand pans to help you slip into a state of deep release and relaxation. The final 20 minutes of class is given over to a full body relaxation followed by savasana. Pure bliss.
Thought to help heal depression, anxiety, chronic pain, and insomnia, and to deepen meditation and spark creativity, sound bathing calms our overworked, overstimulated nervous system, and specific frequencies of sound can bring both our physical and subtle, or energy, bodies into a state of balance.
We do hope you’ll join us.
