Inaugural Bay to Basement Race!

Sports Basement Redwood City and Redwood Water Sports are hosting Bay to Basement, our first community paddle race on Redwood Creek, and we want you on the water with us. This isn't a serious, intimidating race — think Bay to Breakers energy: cowbells, a cheering section, and a finish line right by the store. Whether you're racing to win or just paddling for the vibes, all levels are welcome.

• Date: Saturday, September 12
• Check-in: 10am | First wave: 11am (surf ski, then kayak, then SUP — rolling starts, wraps by 12:30pm)
• Location: Sports Basement Redwood City, on Redwood Creek
• Course: 2-mile out-and-back, starting east of Hwy 101 (approximately 10-15 minutes)
• Classes: surf ski, kayak, and stand-up paddleboard — men's and women's divisions, top 3 finishers in each
• Entry: $10 — fully redeemable for a $10 Sports Basement gift card at check-in
• Spots limited to the first 40–60 paddlers, so register early
