Whenever we look at a particular painting, we can immediately classify it as coming from the Impressionist School. But how did this style of painting evolve? There are those art historians who suggest that Edouard Manet was the father of the movement, himself inspired by the only woman to play a central role in the movement: Berthe Morisot. This lecture will explore the complex history of the movement along with some of the more well recognized names of artists.
