HPR x The Moth: The Cutting Room Floor

Doors open at 2:30 p.m.
Join us for Cutting Room Floor, a special event where the The Moth's Mainstage director, Kate Tellers, sits down with one of this year’s storytellers to explore everything that didn’t make it into the final story.
They’ll talk a little about the process of shaping and building a story how every storyteller’s journey is different and uncover the moments, ideas, and details left behind along the way. We will get to know the storyteller a little better and discover what’s fascinating about their life that never made it into this particular telling.
Come hear the stories behind the story and the pieces that ended up on the cutting room floor.
About the Kate Tellers, Senior Director; Director, MothWorks:
One true thing about me is…I lived in the servants’ quarters of a mansion in Newport, RI and will share facts with you about its previous inhabitants including John Jacob Astor IV (richest man to die in the Titanic, shown in the movie crying and hugging his money). One? The ballroom is based on the Hall of Versailles and, not to brag, I’ve Schottische-ed in there numerous times. For money.

The Live from the Atherton Storytellers' Series takes place at the Atherton Performing Arts studio at Hawaiʻi Public Radio. Doors open thirty minutes before the event starts.
This event will be filmed, recorded and photographed. Your presence constitutes your release of all rights to your recorded voice and image, which may be used in projects by Hawaiʻi Public Radio.
Seating is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis — advance ticket purchase or reservation is strongly suggested.
Ticket Policy: No longer able to attend? Please consider canceling your ticket order so another guest can enjoy this event.
Parking: Street parking is available in the surrounding neighborhood (metered parking is free after 6 p.m.).
