Join the SUN PA Homeschool group for their Annual Home/Cyber School Art Show. This event is happening at The Degenstein Community Library on Friday, March 13th from 3-6pm and Saturday, March 14th from 9-11am. This event is open to the public for viewing! Even if your child does not want to participate, we appreciate the support of everyone coming to view the artwork. Homeschool and cyber school students in grades preK-12th are able to submit up to 2 pieces for art for this show. They can be any medium the student wishes to use. The pieces submitted can be the same or different mediums. Each piece submitted should have the student’s name and medium chosen. Sculptures will be displayed on tables. The hanging pieces will be attached using thumbtacks on a display board or on an easel using tape/binder clips. Hanging pieces should be attached to a piece of paper that includes the information if your child doesn’t want their piece thumbtacked/taped directly. You could also hang a separate piece of paper next to/underneath your child’s artwork with their name and medium chosen. Deadline for the artwork submission is Friday, March 6th.
Artwork can be dropped off at the library between 2:30-3pm on Friday, March 13th. Pickup time for pieces submitted will be between 11a-12p on Saturday, March 14th. If you need other arrangements for dropoff/pickup of artwork just send me a message to see if we can work something out.
There is no fee to enter, however donations for the library will be collected. Since art is so subjective and we don’t want to squash self-esteem, no prizes will be awarded. Each student who submits a piece will receive a ribbon to encourage continued work in creative expression.
There will be a scavenger hunt created for anyone who wants to do it. If your student would like their artwork included, please send Kelani Kline a message with a picture of a small detail (like an I Spy) of the artwork and the student’s name. The deadline for the scavenger hunt submission is by Friday, March 6th.
