📚About the Event📚

Calling all book lovers, casual readers, and anyone with an overflowing bookshelf!

Join us at the HMU Loft for an evening of swapping stories—literally. Bring any gently loved books you're ready to pass along and browse for your next favorite read from fellow community members. We'll have tables organized by genre (similar to our clothing swap) to make exploring easy, whether you're hunting for fantasy, romance, nonfiction, graphic novels, or something completely unexpected.

Found a stack you can't resist? Take it home! We encourage everyone to adopt as many books as they'll genuinely enjoy to help give every title a new life.

Donation-based tickets help support the HMU Loft and the team that makes these community gatherings possible. Any books left at the end of the evening won't go to waste—they'll be donated to mutual aid efforts through Little Free Libraries across Astoria or the Astoria Rolling Library, helping stories continue to find new readers.

For our vetted & private members, the evening will naturally roll into our cozy Game & Craft Night, making it the perfect opportunity to settle in, make new friends, and maybe even crack open your newest read.

Price Transparency

This event is donation based. Please pay what you can, with a minimum of $10 to enter (or you can always volunteer if you want a free tix!).

✨Full vaccination is required. While we recommend getting the booster shots, we are not verifying them at this time.

✨Membership: We reserve the right to refuse entry if needed. Hit Me Up also hosts private events which are invite only, and anyone new to Hit Me Up must apply and be approved to attend—no guests or plus ones. You are welcome to inquire as to your status or that of your friends, but please do not act as if you have an entitlement to access our space or members. Building special spaces is hard, and while we are inclusive and welcoming, we reserve the right to curate our membership as needed to maintain our flourishing community. If you'd like to sponsor a new member please have them apply as soon as possible. If they wait until a few days before the event we cannot guarantee they will be able to be approved in time.

✨Please stay home if you are feeling ill or if you have had recent close contact with someone who tested Covid positive (within the past 5 days). You could be incubating and still test negative. Any requests for refunds for any reason will be honored up to the day of the event.
