About this Event
We are dedicated to helping people develop world-class public speaking and leadership skills.
Join us for some excellent prepared speeches, speech evaluations and Table Topics!
You don't need to be affiliated with Columbia University to join us. All guests are welcome.
REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS & DETAILS
- You must be 18+ to attend this event
- Registration will close at 6:00 PM on Wednesday of the week of the event
- Please only register yourself and use your complete first and last name as it appears on your photo ID when filling in the form
- If you have a guest you would like to bring with you to this event, please send them the link to register so they can sign up on their own.
- Every guest must have a unique email to receive a guest pass from campus security
- Columbia University campus security will review submissions and send you an email with a QR code, subject "CU Guest Access Confirmation," if your request is approved. The email typically comes on Friday night before the meeting.
- You will not be admitted to campus without the QR code and matching government-issued ID.

Info: Club President opens the meeting. Toastmaster of the day explains the meeting structure.

Prepared Speeches
Info: Club members deliver prepared speeches (typically 5-7 min long). Guests share feedback for each speaker using a feedback form and vote for the best speaker of the day.
🕑: 04:00 PM - 04:25 PM
Impromptu Speaking
Info: Members and guests can practice impromptu speaking during a segment called Table Topics: 1-2 min responses to random questions.

Evaluation Session
Info: Every speaker receives feedback from an assigned evaluator, and Geneval Evaluator reviews the overall quality of the meeting with the help of the assistants.

Closing Remarks & Social Hour
Info: Toastmaster of the day announces the Best Speaker, Table Topics Speaker and Evaluator. Club President closes the meeting and invites all the guests to the social hour for informal socializing and networking.
