Visit Castle Drogo for free as part of Heritage Open Days.
High above the Teign Gorge on the edge of Dartmoor stands Castle Drogo. Reminiscent of a medieval fortress the castle was designed and built between 1910 and 1930 by renowned architect Sir Edwin Lutyens for self-made millionaire Julius Drewe.
As well as the Castle, garden and estate, recharge at the café with a traditional Devon cream tea or tuck into a slice of cake. At the gift shop and plant centre you can pick up a wide range of plants, books and gifts for every occasion.
Accessibility
Access to castle is limited as there are many flights of stairs and different levels. Only entrance hall and one other room fully accessible. Please visit nationaltrust.org.uk/castle-drogo to see the full access statement.
