Hereditary Cancer Awareness Week is a national observance dedicated to increasing understanding of hereditary cancer syndromes — genetic conditions that significantly raise a person’s risk of developing certain cancers. The week highlights the importance of genetic testing, family health history, and proactive medical decisions that can save lives.

It’s also a time to honor and support Previvors (those with a known genetic mutation but no cancer diagnosis), Survivors, and their families, while encouraging open conversations that can help break the cycle of late diagnoses in future generations.
