Guided Meditation for Fortune
About this Event
Guided Meditation on Fortune
Overview
Meditation comes in many schools, many forms, and many approaches.
For many people, meditation is first experienced as a way to relax — and given how stressed most of us are, that is already useful.
But meditation can also do something else.
It gives us the space to observe.
When we become quieter, we may begin to notice things that are usually lost in the noise of everyday life: a sensation, an image, a response, a shift in attention, or something that simply feels different.
Over time, this kind of observation can help us develop greater sensitivity to our own experience.
And sensitivity matters.
If we want to understand whether a practice is supporting us, whether something is changing, or whether we respond differently to one thing compared with another, we first need to be able to notice the difference.
What Are We Doing?
In this session, we will use a guided meditation focused on all Five Zambhalas to explore fortune through direct experience and observation.
Everyone enters the same meditation, but what each person notices may be quite different.
There is nothing particular you need to see, feel or achieve.
The practice is simply to pay attention to what arises.
Why Meditate Together?
Because the meditation doesn't end when we open our eyes.
Afterwards, we come back together to share and decode our experiences.
Someone else may describe something remarkably similar to what you noticed. Another person may have experienced the same part of the meditation very differently. Sometimes someone puts words to something you sensed but couldn't quite articulate.
We're not looking for one fixed interpretation.
Instead, sharing gives us more points of reference from which to understand our own observations. Sharing in a safe space held by trained facilitators.
Your experience remains your own. You simply don't have to understand it in isolation.
Do I Need Experience?
No prior meditation experience is required, and you don't need to know anything about the Five Zambhalas beforehand.
If you're new to meditation, come and experience it.
If you've meditated before, this is an opportunity to pay closer attention to how you experience the practice.
What Should I Bring?
You may come with an intention around fortune — something you hope to develop, receive, understand or move towards.
Then bring the more difficult thing:
a willingness to put the expected outcome aside for a while and simply observe.
