On Saturday, May 30th, The Mahoning Drive-In Theater invites you join us in celebrating the work of director Ridley Scott with a 35mm double feature of two of his 80s fantasy/sci-fi classics that’ll make you exclaim, “GREAT SCOTT!”We begin with the dark and beautiful fantasy tale of demons, unicorns and princesses, the stuff of LEGEND (1985). Tom Cruise stars as a simple man in a magical forest who must do battle with the Lord Of Darkness (Tim Curry in jaw-dropping makeup designed by Rob Bottin) to save his beloved princess (Mia Sara) and save the world. With Alice Playten, Robert Picardo, and Billy Barty, and a score by Tangerine Dream.
We move from a fantasy past to a fantastical future when Harrison Ford stars as a hardboiled BLADE RUNNER (1982), hunting down rogue robots in a noiry futuristic Los Angeles, filled with danger and intrigue, in one of the greatest sci-fi films of all time.
With Sean Young, Rutger Hauer, Edward James Olmos, and James Hong, music by Vangelis.
From far off lands to far-flung futures, these two films give a glittering glimpse into the almost half a century of theatrical journeys Ridley Scott has guided audiences on, from historical epics to interstellar adventures, action to drama, Scott has done it all, with no signs of slowing down.
ALIEN, THELMA AND LOUISE, GLADIATOR, BLACK HAWK DOWN, and so many more memorable films have entertained and enlightened audiences for decades, and this inaugural GREAT SCOTT! presents just two of them.
Arrive early for a themed DJ set, food specials, themed merch, raffle, and more fun!
