On Sunday, June 21st, The Mahoning Drive-In Theater is proud to present one of the most acclaimed westerns of all time, John Ford’s Technicolor VistaVision epic THE SEARCHERS (1956) on glorious 35mm.
When his brother’s family are massacred by Comanches, a Civil War veteran (John Wayne) sets out on a years-long journey to find the lone survivor, his young niece (portrayed by both Lana and Natalie Wood at different ages in the film).
A story of vengeance, introspection, rugged landscapes, and iconic imagery, THE SEARCHERS stands tall as one of the great American westerns, and films, to come from the Golden Age of Hollywood.
With Vera Miles, Jeffrey Hunter, Ward Bond, Ken Curtis, Patrick Wayne, and the stunning vistas of Monument Valley, California.
For this special presentation, we’ll be joined by author Christopher McKittrick, author of VERA MILES: THE HITCHCOCK BLONDE WHO GOT AWAY, who will be selling and signing books, and giving a live introduction to the film!
