The winter is coming and outdoor gardening comes to a full halt in New York City, unless you have super expensive hydroponic systems or you can Go Rocks. GeoAg is the study of growing plants in rocks without soils and fertilizers. NYC Councilmen Chi Osse piloted GeoAg in May 2026 and decided to extend into an 8-week workshop series at Marcy Houses, teaching residents how to use rocks from Home Depot to grow plants.
