About the Programme
In this interactive talk, the speakers will share about:
- The capabilities of popular generative A.I. tools like chatbots (ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot), image generators (Dall-E and MidJourney), and video generators (RunwayML, deepfakes)
- How these tools may be exploited by bad actors to facilitate online harms such as misinformation and scams
- How you can apply different tools and techniques to identify A.I.-generated text, images and videos.
This talk features interactive quizzes and activities conducted via your smartphones and is suitable for ages 13 and above.
About the Speakers
Damien Wang (Assistant Director / Senior Librarian)
Damien is an Assistant Director / Senior Librarian in NLB with more than 20 years of experience in content creation and training. A member of the S.U.R.E. team since its inception in 2012, he has developed courseware and conducted workshops on information literacy and combating fake news. He currently leads a team which develops new content, courseware, and programmes to educate the public about new trends in online misinformation and disinformation, particularly through the use and misuse of generative A.I.
