Join accomplished pianist Tessa Chua as she shares her insights on building a successful brand as a freelance musician, and learn how she balances her roles as a performer, educator, and studio founder. During the workshop, Tessa will discuss navigating the competitive world of classical music, from her own experience in winning international competitions to establishing her own piano studio.
Whether you're a budding musician or an experienced performer looking to expand your freelance career, this event offers valuable guidance on personal branding, diversifying your skills, and creating opportunities in the ever-changing landscape of professional music.
ABOUT THE SPEAKER:
Tessa Chua is a classically trained pianist with 10 years of experience in teaching, solo performance, and classical concert accompaniment. She completed Grade 8 Practical from the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) and obtained her Diploma in Piano (ATCL) from Trinity College London (TCL) under the guidance of Dr. Andjelita Zeng. She pursued her Bachelor’s Degree at LASALLE College of the Arts in Singapore in Classical Piano Performance under the mentorship of Mr. Frank DeMeglio. She is the founder of the newly established Monty Piano Studio.
Her achievements include the following:
- Gold Award in the Diploma & above category at the Asia Arts Festival 2023
- Silver in the Le Petit Piano Festival, and the Overseas Performer’s Festival in 2022
Recently, she served as the piano accompanist to violinist, Xin Jie, winning First Place in the 2023 American Protégé International Competition of Romantic Music with the performance of “Légende Op.17 for Violin and Piano”.
