About this Event

Dear Valued Recovery Community Partner,

We warmly invite you and your clients to participate in this year's International Overdose Awareness Day (IOAD) event, a vital opportunity to remember those who died from an overdose, support individuals in recovery, and unite as a community against this crisis.

This year's event will feature a comprehensive resource fair and a solemn vigil. It's an important occasion to acknowledge the profound impact of overdose on individuals, families, and our community. New this year, we have added Color for a Cause Run/Walk/Roll for Recovery!

Event Details:

  • Date: August 29, 2026
  • Time: 9:00 p.m. – 11:00 a.m.
  • Location: MEMORIAL PLAZA, 101 Monroe Street, Rockville, MD

We are committed to making this event accessible and beneficial for everyone. We'll have an array of resources available from various organizations dedicated to prevention, treatment, and recovery.

Free Brunch for Your Clients

To support those currently in treatment or recovery programs, we are pleased to offer a FREE brunch voucher for each of your clients who attend (maximum of 10). This is our way of ensuring that everyone can participate fully and comfortably. For tickets, please refer to the instructions in the email, then use the "Get Tickets" button to the right.

Please download the tickets and provide printed tickets to each client on the day of the event.

Resource Tables Available

We also welcome you to participate as a vendor at the resource fair. If your organization provides services or support related to prevention, behavioral health treatment, harm reduction, or recovery, we encourage you to sign up for a table and share your resources with the community. To reserve your spot at the resource fair, please follow the link included in the flyer. Additional instructions will be shared with registered providers closer to the event date.

Your presence, and that of your clients, will significantly contribute to the impact of this day. It's a chance to foster hope, share information, and strengthen our collective efforts to combat the overdose epidemic.

Please RSVP as soon as possible, and no later than August 22, 2026, by reserving your dinner tickets, registering for Color for a Cause, and registering for a table at the resource fair, so we can get an accurate headcount for planning purposes.

We look forward to standing with you in remembrance and solidarity.
