About this Event

Join us for this instalment of Kitchen Stories, our series celebrating the people, passions and stories behind the world of food. This special event be hosted by legendary restaurateur Jeremy King and award-winning journalist, editor and author Dylan Jones on the 3rd Floor at our Piccadilly store.

Few people have left a greater mark on London's dining scene than Jeremy King. Over five remarkable decades, he has created and revived some of the capital's most celebrated restaurants, including Le Caprice, The Ivy, The Wolseley and The Delaunay. More recently, he returned to Le Caprice's original home with Arlington, opened The Park in Bayswater and has led the revival of Simpson's in the Strand, adding yet another chapter to an extraordinary career.

Jeremy will be discussing his memoir, Without Reservation: Lessons From a Life in Restaurants, an entertaining and insightful look back on a life spent at the heart of hospitality. From opening some of London's most iconic restaurants to hosting an unforgettable cast of guests, the book is filled with colourful anecdotes, candid reflections and life lessons on everything from leadership and communication to the art of making people feel welcome.

Joining Jeremy in conversation is Dylan Jones, the award-winning writer, editor and author whose career has spanned some of Britain's most influential publications, including The Face, Arena, The Observer, The Sunday Times and GQ. Bringing his own wealth of experience and cultural insight, Dylan will explore the stories, characters and defining moments behind Jeremy's remarkable career and memoir.

Dylan's latest book, Table Hopping, offers a witty and glamorous journey through five decades of London's restaurant scene, from the game-changing arrival of Langan's in the 1970s to the chefs, critics, rivalries and larger-than-life characters who helped make the capital one of the world's great dining destinations. Full of colourful stories and sharp observations, it's a love letter to London's endlessly fascinating food culture.
