Fortnum's Kitchen Stories - DEAR GRACE with Claire Thomson
About this Event
For this instalment of our Kitchen Stories series, we’re thrilled to be joined by Claire Thompson, who comes to us with her brand new and very personal cookbook Dear Grace.
Claire is a chef, food writer and a constant source of family-cooking inspiration to her Instagram followers. Claire has written for The Guardian, The Telegraph, BBC Good Food Magazine and Delicious, and is a Guild of Food Writers award winner for Tomato. She has appeared on BBC1’s Saturday Kitchen, Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch and BBC Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour. On her podcast The 5 O’Clock Apron, she “chats and chops” with people from other professions about what they cook for dinner.
Dear Grace is Claire’s warm and insightful cookbook and memoir, which was written for her daughter when she was leaving home for university. Originating from Instagram posts combining advice and recipes, it struck a chord with many parents who were experiencing the same feelings as they sent their own children off into the adult world. Each recipe in the book is paired with a note on topics like independence, budgeting and resilience. Designed for student life, the book features simple, flavourful dishes alongside practical tips on kitchen essentials and shopping. Blending food, memory and guidance, it’s a comforting companion for anyone learning to cook and live independently.
If you’d like to discover more about the book, be sure to book your ticket today and join us in our Book Shop at Piccadilly.
A welcome drink and selection of snacks will be available to enjoy on arrival.
