Fashion Design Summer Art Camp- MORNING (Ages 9-11)

This is a great camp for anyone interested in fashion and design or clothes! Students will learn how to draw ‘the figure’ (human body) and learn how to design ALL kinds of clothing- from pants to wedding gowns to bags and shoes!
Campers will weave their own fabric swatches and learn about different Textile and Surface Pattern Design techniques including block printing and tie-dying. Campers will have opportunities to hand sew small accessories (bags) (NOTE: campers will not be able to sew a garment as we DO NOT have sewing machines and this is NOT a sewing camp).
By the end of the week, students will have a portfolio of original designs using various traditional fashion illustration techniques including pen & ink, watercolor and collage. Students will have the opportunity to participate in a mock 'Project Runway' project and stage a 'Fashion Show'.
Notes
We encourage students to wear clothes they don't mind getting messy in!
