Family workshop: nature gelli printing with Catherine Jones

An hour of playful printing on gelli plates with foliage to appreciate the veins and leaf shapes of plants all around us. Fun for everyone!
£10 (£11.55 incl fees) for 1 child + 1 adult
£6.50 (£6.66 incl fees) for extra adult

This family orientated workshop is designed to fit perfectly in with the Natural world theme of the Literary Festival.
Bring some leaves with you that are pliable but have good veins (Plants like sage, buddhlia, cranesbill geraniums etc are particularly good), as well as a good apron (or wear old clothes- an old shirt is perfect!)and a pack of baby wipes (essential for keeping your equipment as well as you clean)and spend a fun hour playing with colour!
Gelli printing uses acrylic paint rolled onto a rubbery plate, then we put leaves on it and take prints. The first time you do it, it is SO exciting and all ages are spellbound by this addictive form of monoprinting!
It's a great family activity so from reception age (4-5) (with LOTS of help and support and even more baby wipes....) to the retired you can all enjoy being creative.
PLEASE NOTE
If you want to bring a preschooler, the ratio is one adult to one child. Children over 5 who can follow instructions! 1 adult with up to two children.
You can purchase extra adult and children tickets as well as family tickets, so it can be a family day out activity!
Please note acrylic paints stain, and it's essential that you keep the equipment clean as you work as when acrylics dry they wreck the tools, which aren't cheap to replace!:(
