Wild Guardians After School Adventure

Calling parents of young nature lovers aged 9–13!
We’re excited to be running the Wild Guardians Award - an 8-week afterschool programme that gets young people outdoors, building skills, confidence, and a real connection to nature 🌍🌱
Led by Fran and Hannah, sessions will take place on wildlife-rich nature reserves, where participants will get stuck into hands-on conservation activities and explore the five elements of the Wild Guardians journey: Discover, Explore, Conserve, Share and Connect. Young people will discover local wild places, explore through games, bushcraft and seasonal activities, take part in practical conservation like habitat care, and connect with nature and each other. Along the way, they’ll also share their experiences through creative projects and reflections — and even help shape some of the activities themselves.
🌟 What’s in it for them?
• Make new friends and lasting memories
• Build confidence, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
• Work towards a nationally recognised certificate through the John Muir Award
📌 What’s involved?
✔️ Around 25 hours in total
✔️ Fun, practical outdoor sessions
📍 Pick up and drop off: Church of Wales Primary School, Welshpool
🗓️ Every Wednesday from 29th April – 17th June 2026
🕐 3:45–6:30pm
We’ll also be travelling around North Powys with this programme over the next 12 months, so if this location doesn’t work for you, make sure to sign up to our newsletter to be the first to hear when we’re coming near you by signing up to our newsletter ➡️montwt.co.uk/wild-guardians
