Family Lantern Workshop
About this Event
Join local company Emerald Ant for some creative fun making lanterns for two riverside processions.
The Bubbles and Squeaks project has been working with local schools to map, understand and celebrate the area's chalk rivers and their unique biodiversity.
Children have accompanied ecologists on visits to the rivers, which we know are struggling, and are now working with Emerald Ant artists to create an ensemble of river creatures for the processions at Cerne Abbas on 26 September and in the Powerstock area on 17 October.
Now local families and residents, aged 6 to 100, can come along and make a leaping salmon lantern that will be part of the parade. There is a small charge for the workshops which includes a drink and lots of fun!
Children must be accompanied at all times by a parent or guardian. Bring a picnic lunch and dress for mess!
Once complete your amazing lantern will be left with Emerald Ant to be handed out at the parades. We hope you will join us for one of the parades to hold your lantern with pride.
