Suzanne Jean
Suzanne has over fifty years of experience in the design, implementation, and accreditation of community-based programs in the social service field. She is co-founder of the Kettle Friendship Society and Watari Research Association serving each as Executive Director for each organization for over ten years. For over 10 years Suzanne served Hollyburn Family Services Ltd. and Community Services Society as Quality Assurance Director. Suzanne has 21 years experience as accreditation surveyor for CARF International. She speaks and trains with government and social service organizations on topics related to violence prevention, social research, quality assurance, professional management, policy and organizational development and strategic strategies. She is an enthusiastic speaker and trainer on at risk youth, violence prevention, conflict resolution, and workplace harassment/bullying.
Suzanne has trained in the martial arts since 1975 teaching karate, tai chi, and self-defense.
She is the Director of Fit4Defense Ltd, operating a unique antibullying program for all ages called PowerED. Suzanne recently published ‘Bullying Stops Here” inspired by true stories of persons transforming fear into confidence, self-reliance, and positive action through skills acquired in the PowerED program.
