About the Equinox Swap- Summer Out, Winter In 🍂 The Equinox Swap is a joyful, free evening at Southport Market — the perfect chance to clear out the summer clothes you didn't quite wear this year, and pick up autumn and winter pieces you'll actually reach for. We all know the drill: as the seasons turn, you find yourself sorting your wardrobe. The sundresses go to the back, the jumpers come forward. Equinox is the natural moment to let go of the summer items that never quite worked for you — the tops that stayed on the hanger, the jeans that came home from the shop but never made it out the door — and bring them somewhere they'll be loved by someone else. In return? You get to spend a couple of hours browsing autumn and winter pieces brought in by other Southport people, take home the ones that speak to you, dine at the market's independent traders, and meet others who care about giving clothes a longer life.

Format- 🕔 5:00–6:00pm — Drop off your donations 🕕 6:00–9:00pm — Swap floor open The Equinox Swap runs on a simple token system: when you drop off items, you'll receive one token per item (up to 10 items) to spend on the swap floor. One token = one item, and everything is free.

What to bring - Clean, wearable adult clothing — summer items you're clearing out, or any pieces you're ready to pass on · Shoes, bags and accessories are also welcome · Items in good condition — think "would I be happy to give this to a friend?" · Bring up to 10 items to swap

What to expect - A warm, well-lit market space at the heart of Southport · Refreshments and food available from Southport Market's independent traders · Volunteers on hand to help you browse and find your size · A relaxed, sociable evening — bring a friend, stay a while Accessibility Southport Market is on the ground floor with step-free access.

What happens to leftovers - Nothing goes to waste. Any items not taken home on the night are passed to our partners at Lakeside Church Free Clothes Store, who support adults across Sefton with free clothing year-round.
