About this Event
Earth Month - Guided Bird Walk
Celebrate the return of birds to our Community. Join walk leaders Martha and Julia for an interactive bird walk.
Learn how to spot bird species that have just completed their long migration from the south to raise their families in Markham during the spring and summer. We will highlight the need to create and adapt environments that support migratory bird populations in our bustling city. The participants will also learn about City of Markham’s Bird Friendly Guidelines and the actions they can take to protect migratory birds.
We will be demonstrating how to use binoculars, field guides and great birding apps to prepare you for your next birding adventure! Join walk leader Martha Miller and Julia Zarankin author of the book, Field Notes from an Unintentional Birder.
Walk length: 1.5 hours
