About this Event
Celebrate Earth Month and World Migratory Bird Day at German Mills Settlers Park near Bercy (Wycliffe) Park. You will learn about the importance of protecting birds and their habitats. How to differentiate between the bird species that are returning from the south to raise their families in Markham. We will highlight the need to create and adapt environments to support bird populations in our bustling city and what the City of Markham is doing to make our City more Bird Friendly. Your walk leader, Theresa Moore, Field Naturalist and amateur photographer will share her knowledge of birds, ethical wildlife viewing and photography. She will also discuss the importance of preserving the habitats that birds call home.
This program is restricted to ages 8 and above.
Transit accessible: Yes (0.55 km north of TTC stop)
Meeting point: Leslie Street entrance across from Waterloo Crt.
Distance: Approximately 4 km
Location: Meet at the South Entrance to German Mills Settlers Park near Bercy(Wycliffe) Park
Parking: Parking available along Leslie Street across from Waterloo Crt. see map below.
