Join us at Attollo HQ for a Professional Development Series session with Dr. Christina Pantoja Williams, Director of Academic Engagement and Community Partnerships at Millersville University.
Dr. Williams knows firsthand what it means to be the first. A first-generation Latina college student herself, she benefited from access programs, scholarships, and bridge initiatives that opened doors she did not know existed. That experience became her life's work. At Millersville, she has spent years creating those same opportunities for students who look like her, including founding the Ville First-Generation program in 2018 and advising First Gems, a student organization built for and by first-generation college students.
Her work reaches beyond campus. She partners with Lancaster City and the School District of Lancaster to provide advocacy, leadership, and pre-college programming for students in the Latinx community. She works to ensure that admissions materials and campus tours are accessible in Spanish, and she shows up consistently for students of color navigating one of the most pivotal transitions of their lives. In 2024, she received the Keepers of the Flame Award at the PASSHE Summit on Inclusive Education, recognition for her relentless commitment to belonging and equity.
In this session, during Hispanic Heritage Month, Dr. Williams will share what it means to build a career around students who are still becoming who they are, why representation matters at every level of education, and how young people can find and use their own voice no matter where they are starting from.
