A practical workshop for SMEs focused on fake content, deepfakes and disinformation, designed to help protect business trust and reputation.
About this Event

Disinformation is no longer something that only affects large organisations. Small and medium-sized businesses are increasingly targeted through fake content, manipulated images and misleading narratives that can damage trust and reputation.

This practical workshop is designed to help SMEs understand disinformation in real business situations and learn how to respond in a clear and confident way.

During the session, participants will:

  • Understand the difference between misinformation and disinformation, and how false content spreads
  • Explore real-world examples affecting businesses and the risks involved
  • Practise spotting fake or misleading posts, altered images and false narratives
  • Learn what deepfakes and AI-generated media are, and why they matter for SMEs
  • Learn simple, practical steps to protect their business and reputation
  • Take part in open discussion and Q&A focused on SME challenges

The workshop includes time for discussion, networking and lunch, as well as a Cyber Advice Corner where attendees can speak directly with cyber-security students and get practical guidance.

This event is part of Cyber Clinic initiative supported by Innovate UK through the West Midlands Innovation Programme Flexible Innovation Fund
