Learn how to scope, run and report a practical PIA for high-risk AI projects.
About this Event

This WA AI Hub course is for project managers, privacy officers, AI developers, policy teams, procurement leads and governance staff. It responds to the new WA privacy environment under the PRIS Act and uses practical case material including biometric technology, PIAs and automated decision-making. Participants leave with a concrete governance artefact they can use in their organisation.

What you will do:
  • PIA threshold and project description: Decide when a PIA is needed and describe the AI project clearly.
  • Information flows and stakeholder consultation: Map personal information flows and plan meaningful consultation.
  • Risk analysis and mitigation plan: Assess privacy risks and draft practical recommendations.
  • PIA report, response and review: Turn a PIA into decisions, accountabilities and monitoring actions.

Facilitator:

Mr a is a WA AI Hub strategist, technologist, and educator who supports young people to explore AI through practical, hands-on learning while building digital skills, creativity, and critical thinking.

Who Should Attend:

  • AI developers - building systems that must integrate privacy and responsible AI safeguards.

  • Governance staff - embedding accountability, monitoring, and reporting into organisational practice.
