Join the Commonwealth War Graves Commission for a free tour of Dunfermline (Douglas Bank) Cemetery, led by one of our experienced volunteer tour guides.

The 1914-1918 War Graves are located in a naval plot which is situated on a mound in the centre of the cemetery. During the 1939-1945 War the cemetery was used for the burial of servicemen, the great majority of whom were men of the sea and lie in this naval plot. There are, however, a few war graves in other parts of the cemetery. A Cross of Sacrifice has been erected in a central position in the naval plot.
There are now 4, 1914-1918 and nearly 130 1939-1945 War casualties commemorated in this site. In addition there is one unidentified 1939-1945 burial.
The tour lasts approx. 90 mins and covers about 400 metres on paths and grass with uneven ground and slopes.
Limited parking is available. There are no facilites or toilets on site. Please bring water if required.
Please dress for the weather and wear suitable footwear.
Well behaved dogs on a lead are welcome in the cemetry.
