About this Event

Join the Commonwealth War Graves Commission for a free tour of Dunfermline Cemetery, led by one of our experienced volunteer tour guides.

Our tours are free to the public, but if you would like to support us then please consider donating to our charity The Commonwealth War Graves Foundation (CWGF).

MEETING POINT is inside the pedestrian gate at Leys Park Road, there is a free car park just outside this entrance.

The tour will introduce you to the history and ongoing work of the commission, and the stories of some of the men and women commemorated in this cemetery.

Over 100 Great War casualties and 40 casualties of the Second World War are commemorated by the CWGC at Dunfermline Cemetery.

The casualties featured on the tour will include servicemen and servicewomen from the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth who we care for in the cemetery. They will include members of the navy, army, air forces and the mercantile marine.

The tour lasts approx. 90 mins and covers about 800 metres on paths and grass with uneven ground and slopes.

Limited parking is available but there are also two pedestrian entrances, one on Robertson Road, and one at the end of Leys Park Road, where there is a free car park.

There are no toilet or facilities on site. Please bring water if required.

Well behaved dogs on a lead are welcome in the cemetery

Please dress for the weather and wear suitable footwear.

Please note there can be last minute cancellations. This can be due to various reasons including illness, site issues and weather. We will email you as soon as we can, but this could include the morning of the tour, so please check your emails prior to leaving for the tour.

The Commonwealth War Graves Foundation (CWGF) aims to actively engage all communities with the work of the CWGC by telling the inspiring stories through education and outreach projects.

The CWGF is an independent charity registered with the Charity Commission of England and Wales (1171947) and Scotland (SC051982).
